How to Build Your Own Strip Curtain Kit:
Step 1. Choose your bracket type. See descriptions of each below and decide what will work best for your environment.
Step 2. Measure the width you will need the bracket to be. This is the width just above the door frame, 1-2" wider than the width of the inside of the frame. Width (Feet) + Width (Inches) = total kit width.
Step 3. Measure the height you will need the strips to be. This will be the length of the door frame or opening they will be covering. It wouldn't hurt to add an inch or two to the length because you can cut off any excess material if they are too long. Height (Feet) + Height (Inches) = total kit height
Step 4. Select if you would like cooler or freezer grade strip material. Cooler material is perfect for indoor or outdoor use where temperatures range from 0-150 degrees Fahrenheit. Freezer material should be used for food storage applications where temperatures drop below -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bracket Types
QuickMount
This lightweight, durable and easy to install ''QuickMount'' replacement strip curtain hardware holds strips tightly in place preventing accidental removal. This bracket comes in 2 FT lengths. Used primarily for 6" wide strips.
Metal EZ Mount
This 8 FT aluminum mounting bracket is used for easy mount of 6" or 8" wide smooth strips. Also referred to as a "G-Bar" this bracket allows strips to slide in and hold in place. Strips have 7/8" shoulders with the tops tabbed for easy slide-in installation.
Universal Mount
The durable, versatile EconoTrack bracket can be used for both surface and in-jamb mounting on small or very large openings. EconoTrack's formed steel face plate holds strips firmly while allowing flex without breaking. These rugged brackets are constructed with 14 gauge galvanized steel with 1/4" studs. Face plates are formed in 12" sections for easy strip replacement. Comes in 3, 4, or 5 FT lengths, with the option to mount to the ceiling or the wall.
Wall Mount
Same style as the Universal Mount, but with the option to only mount to the wall. Used for heavy duty applications. All cooler/freezer strip options work on this bracket. Available in 3, 4, or 5 FT lengths.
NOTE: Standard overlap is 67% for all 6" wide strip curtain kits.
NOTE: Wall mount and universal mount bracket types are NOT available in 1' and 2' widths. If you need one of these widths please purchase the 3' kit and cut down once you receive the strip curtain kit.
